Finn
Finn is a two-year-old dog surrendered by his family who said they were surrendering him because he is too high-energy and regularly knocks down their young child while running through the house. They said he is very sweet with people and they have never introduced him to other dogs because he pulls at the leash and barks loudly when he sees other dogs on his daily walk.

Morrie
Morrie is a 54-pound dog that was found by a Good Samaritan running on the side of a busy road. He appears to be two years old. The finder said they brought him into their backyard where he met their two other dogs who picked on him. They said he appeared shy but friendly and that he does not seem to know how to walk on a leash. The finder said they would have kept him, but their other dogs didn’t seem to like him.

Dotty
Dotty is a 59-pound, short-haired dog that was found by a Good Samaritan running on the side of a busy road. He is wearing a collar with rhinestones but does not have a tag. He has a microchip that is traced back to a non-working number. He is friendly with staff on intake but is difficult to vaccinate because he’s excitedly wagging his tail and bouncing around the intake room. He pulls strongly on the leash when he’s walked out of the intake room.

Fiona
Fiona is a visibly underweight, mixed-breed dog. She was brought in by an animal control officer who said the owner was given the choice to receive a citation or surrender her after several instances where she had been found without food, water, or shelter in the backyard. The officer reports Fiona was quiet and came right to them whenever they performed a welfare check. They also shared that the previous owner had her since she was a puppy and said she kept her outside because Fiona was not potty trained.

Marcus
Marcus entered the shelter for the third time as a stray dog. He was reclaimed the first two times, but this time, the owner has not returned, despite the shelter sending him a letter to inform him Marcus was there. Marcus is a 90-pound Rottweiler mix that is a volunteer favorite because he’s easy to walk on a leash and loves to lay down to be pet and cuddled. He even gives hugs to volunteers! Marcus was evaluated in play groups and was reported to be ‘reactive’ with other dogs. No other playgroup notes were entered.

Eva
Eva was brought to the shelter by a case worker after her owner passed away. According to the case worker, the owner had no family members or close connections. Eva lived with another dog her entire life. That dog was taken by a family member. Eva is estimated to be between 9 and 11 years old. The social worker said they have always lived in one home and that the owner used to have another dog and two cats.
